Dr. Alexandria Pruitt

She graduated with a doctorate in Pediatric Psychology from Spalding University in 2014 and completed her clinical internship at Kennedy Krieger Institute and Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Her fellowship training focused on the treatment of all eating disorders at The Center for Eating Disorders at Sheppard Pratt where she provided both inpatient and partial hospitalization level of care.

Dr. Alex has experience with the treatment of mood and anxiety disorders, pediatric obesity, diabetes management, Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder, Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder, chronic pain or illness and fatigue syndromes, as well as trauma. Her specialty training allows her to work with children as young as 3 years old. She delivers evidence-based treatments to individuals, groups, and families in a compassionate and solution focused manner. 

Dr. Alex is also dedicated to training the next generation of practitioners. She has worked as an adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Louisville and Spalding University in the graduate psychology departments. She continues to supervise doctoral students at the clinic. 

Another passion of Dr. Alex’s is state advocacy. She currently is a Governor appointed member of the Kentucky Eating Disorder Council where she often provides CEUs on how to treat eating disorders to large health organizations such as VA’s, Public Health Forums and Kentucky Psychiatric Medical Association. Another role that Dr. Alex serves in currently is the Clinical Representative for the State of Kentucky Psychological Association Board of Directors. Alex lives in Louisville with her husband and three children and a chinchilla.
