Licensed Therapist
Louisville Center for Eating Disorders (LCED) is searching for a dedicated, fully licensed, passionate therapist to provide evidence-based treatment of our BHSO Licensed and JCAHO Accredited Eating Disorder Partial Hospitalization Program and Intensive Outpatient Program. Programming which the therapist will be leading includes meal therapy, group therapies, and individual therapy while working on a collaborative interdisciplinary team. LCED therapists are cross-trained to treat patients with a myriad of diagnoses and ages, as well as participate in multidisciplinary treatment and consultation teams.
LCED is active in ongoing research with local universities to further advance the provision of evidence-based therapies, and extend the reach of specialists to treat these conditions effectively. The clinic has a well respected reputation in the state for providing empirically supported psychological services that are specialized and patient-centered. Clinicians are seen regularly at outreach events and professional conferences as keynote and expert presenters. Multiple staff are members in state groups including Kentucky Psychological Association and the Kentucky Eating Disorder Council. Prior training and at least 3 years experience in the provision of evidence-based therapies such as CBT, ERP, DBT, and ACT is preferred. While specific training in the treatment of OCD or eating disorders is a plus, it is understood that many applicants and new-hires have limited previous training in those approaches. We offer training from clinical staff members who are experts in the field, as well as monthly didactic training, weekly consultation teams, and access to a comprehensive digital library of treatment manuals, workbooks, handouts, and peer-reviewed journal articles.
It is our goal to support your development as a specialist in the provision of evidence-based therapies for Eating Disorders and comorbid diagnosis. Additional training is also offered to therapists interested in learning more about exposure-based work, DBT, ACT, family-based treatment for adolescents, and evidence-based approaches for the treatment of PTSD. We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative, motivated, and collaborative therapist to join our full-time staff. We are interested in candidates who value diversity and inclusion, providing affirming care, and who are interested in exploring ways to raise awareness of implicit bias and barriers to quality mental health care. A full-time therapist would be involved in the following duties, tasks, responsibilities, and capacities:
- Provide intake assessments to inform treatment plans
- Utilize evidence-based treatment approaches in individual and group formats (couples and family formats are also available)
- Follow Joint Commission and State BHSO License and accreditation policies
- Attend interdisciplinary treatment teams and engage in regular consultation and training to build and develop competency in treatment approaches
- Participation in trainings and willingness to grow in knowledge of evidence-based treatments across a range of diverse populations (e.g., children, older adults)
- Ability to be flexible with a caseload that includes children, adolescents, and adults
- Willingness to work with a diverse population of individuals
- Proper storage of private and sensitive patient information
Other requirements and preferences are as follows:
- Applicants must have 1 year working experience post graduation of masters or doctorate degree in the field of psychology or social work (e.g. LPA, MFT-A, LMFT, CSW, LCSW, Ph.D., Psy.D.).
- Available 7:30-3:30 PM M-F
As a thriving and growing Eating Disorder facility, salary will be commensurate with prior experience with potential for substantial increases and bonuses. There are also opportunities for growth, supervision of practicum students, and future leadership roles.
